Investing in your education is one of the most important decisions you will make, and Luna Community College is dedicated to keeping high-quality higher education affordable and accessible. Whether you are an in-state resident, an out-of-state student, or taking advantage of special regional tuition discounts, this page outlines everything you need to know about your educational costs, payment procedures, and refund schedules.

Current Tuition Rates

Explore our transparent, credit-hour-based tuition structures. You will find separate rate schedules detailing:

  • In-State / In-District Tuition: Rates for local New Mexico residents.
  • In-State / Out-of-District Tuition: Rates for out-of-district New Mexico residents.
  • Out-of-State Tuition: Rates for non-resident students.

Senior Citizen Discounts

Luna offers specialized tuition discount frameworks to ensure lower costs for senior citizens who are New Mexico residents.

Mandatory & Special Course Fees

In addition to base tuition, certain fees support campus infrastructure and specific classroom materials. Review the standard schedules for:

  • Standard Non-Refundable Fees: Including registration, student activity, and technology/laboratory fees per credit hour.

  • Special Course Fees: Specific fees tied to unique laboratory, distance learning, or vocational program equipment.

Payment Policy

Learn how to manage your balance responsibly. Find out how to make secure online payments through the student portal, pay in person at the Business/Fiscal Office, or sign up for a structured monthly payment plan to budget your costs over the semester.

Add/Drop and Complete Withdrawal Refund Schedules

If your plans change, timing is everything. Review the definitive guidelines for getting your money back:

  • Add/Drop Period: Drop an individual course during the designated timeframe for a 100% tuition refund.

  • Complete Withdrawal: If you must withdraw from all your classes after the deadline, a prorated sliding scale applies (ranging from 90% down to 0% depending on the days elapsed).
