History
Luna Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The college first applied for NCA candidacy in 1978 as Luna Vocational Technical Institute, and accreditation was initially granted in 1982. The most recent Reaffirmation of HLC Accreditation was granted in 2023–2024. Luna Community College continues to uphold its commitment to institutional quality and improvement in alignment with HLC criteria, with continued monitoring to support ongoing progress and accountability

Luna Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to award certificates and Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Arts, and Associate of Science degrees. The college operates within the guidelines established by the New Mexico Higher Education Department.
