Honorable board of trustees, administrators, faculty, guests and 2008 distinguished graduates of Luna Community College, today, it is time to savor the accomplishments of our hard work, support and sacrifice. I especially believe it is a time to celebrate and congratulate you, the graduates of this fine college.

On behalf of the trustees, I would like to share our commitment to you.

We have and are continuing to invest in the future of Luna Community College by strengthening our outreach, academic rigor, athletic teams and community-based program offerings. Whether this is your first degree or certificate or if you are a multiple credential holder—we want you to always remain confident that the education you have earned through Luna Community is second to no other.

The credentials you have earned here today are priceless and a valuable step toward more advanced education, building stronger family economic support and improving the community in which you live—because you have increased your knowledge of subject areas that will benefit humanity.

We are aggressively seeking more apprenticeships and employment opportunities so the education you have earned will translate into more meaningful on-the-job training and better paying jobs. This approach will ultimately strengthen our quality of life wherever we choose to live.
