Luna Community College summer enrollment after the first eight days of classes shows a significant increase from the first eight days in the summer of 2007. The early numbers show that there is about a 25 percent increase of student headcount in relation to where the college was at the same time last year.As of the first eight days of classes, there was an 808 student headcount, compared to 648 student headcount at the same time last year.
Similarly, student credit hours have increased by 28 percent also in relation to where Luna Community College was at the end of the first eight days of classes in summer, 2007. As of day eight of this semester, students were taking 3,736 credit hours compared to 2,917 credit hours at the same time last summer.
The final census numbers will be available at the end of the summer term.
“We had an increase in enrollment in the spring semester as well so I am excited and pleased with the trend this year,” said LCC Interim President Dr. Sigfredo Maestas. “The enrollment increases continue to signal that we are in a growth mode again. I remain very optimistic about the future of Luna Community College.”
