The office of Student Financial Assistance(OSFA) is dedicated to helping Luna students search out and apply for financial assistance. To better serve our students, Luna has created and published a resourceful and complete guide to financial aid entitled "The Luna Connection".
The Luna Connection is the most complete source of financial information available. Students and parents can find answers to many of the questions they may have regarding financial aid. If you still have questions you may call (505)454-2534, or 454-5324 or email us at finaid@luna.edu.

FINANCIAL AID ANNOUNCEMENTS
The last processing cycle of student financial assistance for the 2008 Spring Semester will take place on April 25, 2008. Any student who has applied for financial assistance for Spring 2008 whose file is incomplete, must have their file complete and verified by April 18, 2008 in order to be awarded.

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS
During the month of May, the Office of Student Financial Assistance will be reviewing Spring 2008 grade reports for all financial aid applicants to determine if satisfactory academic progress requirements have been met for continued financial assistance eligibility.
Students placed on financial assistance probation will receive financial assistance for their next period of enrollment on a “probationary status.” However, students placed on financial aid suspension will be denied further financial assistance until an appeal is reviewed and approved by the Financial Assistance Appeal Committee.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance at 454-2560.
FEDERAL PELL GRANT FOR SUMMER '08
The Office of Student Financial Assistance reminds all financial aid applicants that students are limited to the equivalent of two (2) full-time semesters of PELL Grant funding per school year. Therefore, students who received a full-time PELL Grant during the 2007 Fall Semester and a full-time PELL Grant during the 2008 Spring Semester will not be eligible for a PELL Grant during the 2008 Summer Session. However, Federal SEOG and Work-Study funds will be available to students enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SUMMER '08
Any student planning to attend the 2008 Summer Session, and in need of financial assistance, must have a 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the LCC Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA). The 2007-2008 FAFSA will be the application the LCC OSFA uses to determine eligibility and award aid for the 2008 Summer Session. If you have already completed a 2007-2008 FAFSA, you need not complete another one. However, if you have not completed a 2007-2008 FAFSA, you must complete one as soon as possible to ensure that the processor of the application receives it by the federal deadline of June 30, 2008.
In addition, students planning to attend the 2008 Summer Session at LCC must complete an LCC Financial Assistance Interest Form by May 1, 2008. Forms are now available at the OSFA.
Students are reminded that six (6) credit hours are required for the summer session to be eligible for all types of financial assistance. The OSFA will award aid based on the following:
1-5 |
credit hours = |
less than ½ time enrollment status |
6-8 |
credit hours = |
½ time enrollment status |
9-11 |
credit hours = |
¾ time enrollment status |
12+ |
credit hours = |
full time enrollment status |
Please note that the enrollment status table outlined above is different from what the Registrar considers to be full-time for the summer session. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact the office of Student Financial Assistance.
